Last Friday morning, June 28th, we woke up to see our three baby fawns. We have not named them, but they sleep in our backyard, and wake up in playful moods. They are adorable, and get our day off to a great start.
After a growth spurt and cluster feeding night, we entered the nursery to wish our son a good morning.
Gideon will let us know he is awake and call us either by squeaking and yelling “mmmmm!” or grunting. Sometimes, he will be just in the right position to kick the slats around his crib. He is one strong babe!
It wasn’t 10 minutes after we got him out of his crib, that aunt Rachel rang the doorbell. She stopped by to visit on her way home from Springfield. Gideon got to meet his aunt and his little banana-sized cousin at the same time!

We had such a great visit, full of exciting updates. Ultrasound photos, and even ultrasound video footage, updates on becoming first time home owners, lots of baby clothes, maternity clothes, and goodies that Gideon has outgrown. Just a great, fun time. We love you auntie Rachel!
Just a cute picture I took at some point this last week. I love watching him sleep, and I love how his little foot is sticking out from under the blanket. It’s the little things.
On Sunday July 1st, we had our Bradley Method class reunion at our instructor’s home. It was so much fun catching up, hearing birth stories, having a house full of babies, and being around some pretty cool people.
On the way home from the reunion, the only way Gideon would calm down was to hold Daniel’s hand. So adorable. Fortunately, Daniel has long arms to reach from the driver’s seat.
Fourth of July
July 4th was spent playing, baby wearing, and baking. Gideon loved helping me make a delicious pink lemonade cake for our evening cookout with friends. He thought my stand mixer was hilarious, and loved holding my measuring spoons for me. He’s such a good helper.

The only thing that got Gideon to smile for our pictures was Asher dancing around and saying “Look at me Gideon! Smile!”. Gideon thought it was the best.
Happy 4th of July from our family to yours!
What was your favorite part of this year’s Independence Day? God bless!
